For years flamboyant New
York swim coach Doug Stern has held his triathlon
training camp on the Island of Curacao. Located 35 miles
North of Venezuala in the the Southern Caribbean, Curacao
has beautiful sunsets, excellent ocean swimming, a fine
50 meter pool and good cycling and running. The camp is
based at the Lions Dive Hotel. The hotel is a large
SCUBA diving resort complex with complete dock, beach,
SCUBA rental and instruction, pool, fitness club and
restaurant facilities. |

The camp is the ideal way
to get out of the winter weather and back into shape for
the coming season. The mix of participants is always fun
and evenings are as lively as the day time training
sessions. A beach barbecue at the end of a long bike ride
across the island is just one of the weeks
highlights. |
