2008 Cervelo P2SL Dura Ace

2008 Cervelo P2SL Dura Ace

2008 Cervelo P2SL Dura Ace

With an MSRP of $1850 (our price varies, phone us at (313 278 1350 for details) the Cervelo P2SL is not only the original Cervelo, but one of the best sub-$2000 tri bikes available from any manufacturer. This is an impressive Dura-Ace equipped, mid level to entry level tri bike you don’t need to upgrade. If you aren’t willing to pay for a carbon frame, the P2SL is a logical option if it fits you.

All the key features are here: Most importantly, a truly aerodynamic frame. Cervelo frame shapes actually provide an aerodynamic benefit, unlike many other company’s frames that only look aerodynamic. The down tube, seat tube and seat post all use the proprietary airfoil shapes developed by Cervelo for use on the original P2 series and also used on the previous P3 and P3SL bikes. The P2SL also uses the Cervelo adjustable rear wheel cut out. This feature improves rear wheel aerodynamics and even makes race wheels more efficient. Ride quality of the P2SL is uncanny for a sub-$2000 bike because of the uniquely butted Cervelo Smartwall 2 aluminum tubing. This proprietary tubing, used only by Cervelo, provides excellent stiffness and unbelievable comfort in an aluminum frame. Add to these features a very wide fit band due to the adjustable geometry and a nicely constructed frame with dependable internal cable routing. Another innovative benefit of the Dura-Ace P2SL is the anodized, pewter color. This unique finish is extremely durable and is actually lighter weight than a painted frame.

The P2SL is not only a great first tri bike for someone entering the sport or upgrading from a road bike but it is a workable bike for the first time Ultra-Distance (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, 26.2 mile run) and ½ Ironman athlete.
