2008 Cervelo P2C Ultegra

Want a version of the best selling Cervelo P2C for $500 less than its Dura-Ace equipped brother? The new $2500 MSRP (our price may vary, call us at 313 278 1350 for details) P2C Ultegra is the darling of the important $2500 first time/step-up all carbon fiber triathlon bike category. This is not a version of the P2C frame, but the exact same frame used on the Dura-Ace version with a new color scheme and the Cervelo Wolf TT bladed, aerodynamic carbon fiber fork. The Ultegra component spec helps control cost while optimizing frame quality and fit with the original P2C frameset. For more information on the specific differences between Shimano Ultegra and Shimano Dura-Ace components click here.

The specific differences between the P2C Dura-Ace and the P2C Ultegra are:

    • MSRP of $2500 vs. $3000 for Dura-Ace version: Our price varies; please phone us at (313) 278-1350 for specific pricing.
    • Wolf TT fork with thick wall alloy steer tube and crown as opposed to Wolf CL fork with all carbon fiber crown and lightweight, cro-moly steer tube on Dura-Ace P2C.
    • Shimano R500 wheels as opposed to Shimano R550 wheels on Dura-Ace version. (The R550 wheelset has straight pull spokes, the R500 has “J” bend spokes at the hub flange).
    • FSA Gossamer aluminum crank speced on Ultegra P2C as opposed to FSA SLK Carbon crank on Dura-Ace version.
    • Dia-Compe 188 brake levers as opposed to FSA brake levers on Dura-Ace version.

The P2C Ultegra represents an impressive value and has sold better in the ’08 model year than any triathlon bike from any manufacturer with the new Ultegra version leading the way. Customers who have done their product research on line and in stores seem to agree: The Ultegra P2C offers the best value for the money in a bike with a wide fit band that is well suited for almost every multisport event in the world.

The Cervelo P2C frameset is the unsung hero of the Cervelo line with a similar geometry chart to the record setting P3C but higher head tubes across the board above size 51cm. Each of the frames sizes 54 cm, 56 cm, 58 cm and 61 cm feature a 1.5 cm higher head tube than its older, lower brother the P3C. The P2C uses the proven horizontal, rear facing dropouts and carbon fiber composite aerodynamic wheel cutout that has been a Cervelo trademark from Ironman podiums to the fastest ever Tour de France time trial. Considering the price of the P2C and the excellent component spec including a Visiontech cockpit with original ski bend aerobars for maximum comfort and efficiency this bike is a very fair deal. Legendary Cervelo engineering, incredible carbon fiber material and great component spec make the P2C the real stand out in the Cervelo triathlon line up.

The P2C is the thinking person’s triathlon bike with a truly aerodynamic frameset (not just an aero looking frameset) and an impressive and logically conceived component list. So far in 2008 we’ve sold more Cervelo P2C’s than any other single triathlon bike. Cervelo mentions the wait for a P2C can be long, so order early (all the P2C’s we’ll sell in 2008 were pre-ordered in September of 2007, so you are buying from our large allocation). If you want a new 2008 Ultegra equipped P2C we recommend you buy 3-6 months before you need it.
