2010 Scott Speedster S50.

Scott CR1 Team
Scott Speedster S50.

Frankly, we used to avoid bike in this price category because they simply weren’t good enough. The Scott Speedster S50 changes that. The S500 relies on technology and design from much higher end bikes in the Scott line and trickles those design themes down to a $699 price point where it has been previously impossible to get a bike this nice for this little. A full Shimano transmission turns a Truvativ triple crank over a pair of Alex Race 24 wheels on Continental (yes, Continental) tires. It’s a lot of value for $699 and a bike that will get you started an on the road toward a love affair with fitness and cycling.

MSRP: $679.99
