On a trip into town on San Pedro Island, Belize I spotted this boy
playing in the ocean. I wadded into the Caribbean and followed him,
shooting three rolls of him. He was shy at first, but after a moment
forgot I was there. In one instant he turned to the horizon and
walked into the sea. When I got the photo back it had this sweeping,
panoramic quality to it. The boy seemed to be confronting a huge
world before him, looking away from his small island nation toward
an unknown world
